Madeleine Moss grew up in Ithaca, New York, and holds a degree in French literature from Cornell University. She received her M.F.A. in fiction from Washington University in St. Louis in 2020. She currently lives in Strasbourg, France, where she teaches high school English.
In her writing, Madeleine has an enduring fondness for character triangulation, family secrets, and important phone calls going to voicemail. Her favorite moment in fiction is the time jump in The Portrait of a Lady after Isabel Archer’s marriage.
